If the people who do this all day couldn't make it scale, it's fair to wonder whether Meta ads work for your product.
Before you decide that, check the one number nobody set. What an order was allowed to cost your store, after product, shipping and the fee. If the account was never given that number, it was never aiming at anything. Four minutes, figures you already know.
Free assessment · Estimates are fine · Nothing to look up
The hardest part is deciding what to try after the people you hired couldn't make it work.
You hired them for more customers and one less thing to carry. What came back was a report that said the account was healthy, a suggestion to put more behind it, and orders that sat where they were. Nothing in that was false. It's what happens when nobody has set what an order is allowed to cost, and when the people running the ads have never sold your product to your customer.

There is another part worth examining.
A campaign can have its settings in place and still give someone a weak reason to buy. The questions customers ask before ordering, the reasons they choose your product, the words they use afterward can all inform the next ad.

You already have something to bring to the next decision.
Those are things you encounter while running your store. They give you something specific to examine before you decide what to do next.

Kris had already paid an agency to make his ads work.
Kris is a client we work with at The Ecommerce Alley. His agency was spending $58K a month for $161K in sales. A year after bringing the ads in-house, about $59K in monthly spend brought in about $300K in sales. His agency's results weren't the end of the story.
Start with a number you can use in the next conversation.
Before deciding whether to keep the agency, change the ads or take on more yourself, work out what an order needs to leave you. Answer questions about your sales, costs and current setup. Your result estimates what you can spend to bring in an order and shows how the agency fee changes what the store needs to cover. That gives you something concrete to ask whoever runs the ads to work toward.
